Philippines 101 is a four-part workshop series that takes a critical look at Philippine history, Filipino migration to the U.S, the root causes of forced migration and the Filipino people’s response to them, and the role of Filipino migrant workers in effecting change. This workshop is open to Damayan members and their families, youth and allies/supporters who want to learn more and the Filipino migrant worker community in NYC and the Filipino people’s history of culture and resistance!

Philippines 101 is FREE for Damayan members who are up to date with their membership dues payments. Non-member migrant workers are encouraged to become members before attending the workshop. Our membership fee is $50/year. For allies & supporters, the workshop registration fee is $20 for all four classes.

Participants are required to attend at least three classes and have their choice of attending Monday or Sunday sessions.
