No Amazon Headquarters in Queens: Tell Gov. Cuomo “No Deal!”

Saturday, Jan 26, 2018

12:00pm - 2:00pm

Location:
outside 21 St - Queensbridge train station

Join us, fellow members of Hate Free Zone and our allies in Queens in standing against the construction of Amazon’s headquarters in Long Island City.

Governor Cuomo and Mayor De Blasio are trying to bypass community consent and offer 1 to 3 billion of our tax dollars to the trillion dollar company Amazon so they can construct their headquarters in Queens. Amazon is an anti-immigrant and anti-worker corporation and their presence will surely increase our rent and displace us from the community! Those billions of tax dollars should be spent on improving the services we need, like public transportation and housing. Let's show him we will not accept Amazon in Queens!

Join us in holding our elected officials accountable and defending our community!

No New Home for Amazon in Queens Rally

Sunday, December 16, 2018

1:00pm - 3:00pm

Location:
Gracie Mansion

East 88th St & East End Ave, New York, NY 10028

Join us, our fellow members of Hate Free Zone and our allies in Queens in standing against the construction of Amazon’s headquarters in Long Island City.

Billion and trillion dollar corporations like Amazon and their political accomplices are to blame for the endangerment of millions of workers everywhere in the world. Amazon is known for abusing its workers and collaborating with ICE. We will not accept Amazon’s dehumanizing working conditions and their complicity in the detention and deportation of immigrants!

The construction of the Amazon headquarters will also cause our rent to be even more expensive, starting in LIC and then spreading to neighboring communities like Woodside, the home of Little Manila where thousands of Filipinos live and work. This will push out thousands of working class immigrants like us out of Queens. We will either be forced to move farther away from everything and everyone we know or face homelessness, which is a growing crisis in NYC.

We do not want to be forced to move anymore! We have fought hard to build homes for ourselves in this country. We have fought hard to have justice and dignity at our workplaces, reliable and safe housing, and peaceful and unified communities. Amazon is a threat to everything we try to build for our people every day. We make Queens the beautiful, vibrant, culturally rich place that it is and we cannot let these greedy people take our homes from us!

Join us in defending our community!
